La Veyan Satanism is a religion founded in 1966 by the American occultist and author Anton Szandor La Vey.Scholars of religion have classified it as a new religious movement and a form of Western esotericism. state of California through the founding of his Church of Satan on Walpurgisnacht of 1966, which he proclaimed to be "the Year One", Anno Satanas—the first year of the "Age of Satan". There is no single set of beliefs, rules or dogmas for either group.
The so-called Nine Satanic Statements outline some of the beliefs of the Church of Satan, including that Satan represents “man as just another animal,” and that followers should embrace indulgence instead of abstinence.
Picture a Satanist, and you might imagine someone dressed in a black cloak and mask engaging in bizarre violent rituals involving the blood of dead animals and an inverted pentagram etched onto the ground in chalk.
At some point in this vision, Satan might even burst through the floor in a flurry of fire and bring an end to the world.
From the Luciferian viewpoint, Satanists are primarily focused on the physical nature of man, exploring, experimenting and enjoying that nature while rejecting endeavors to rise beyond it. Luciferians view Lucifer as a spiritual and enlightened being.
And while Luciferians do embrace the enjoyment of one's life, they accept that there are greater and more spiritual goals to be had.
